Nightmares

The suits stood to attention, soldiers, cloaks and armour lined up in my cupboard.

My bowties like swords hung out of dead bodies.

My mattress lay still to remind me of God.

The perfumes I excessively brought smelt like my fathers hair,

I realise these items come to life at night

and it’s what I call nightmares.
