Beatfreeks x Blackpool Council

The brief

Blackpool Council asked Beatfreeks to create a campaign targeted at young people aged 16-25 to deliver public health messaging around COVID-19. This extremely time-sensitive campaign needed to galvanise young people into following Government advice to keep safe and well.

What we did

Beatfreeks recruited 8 local young people aged 16-25 and ran 2 co-design sessions to come up with some campaign and content ideas around the government guidelines. Each young person then created their own user generated content to share on their platforms across a 2 week campaign.

The outcome


  • 1.4 million impressions

  • Over 300,000 young people in Blackpool reached

  • Thousands of shares, likes and other engagements across the the creators posts.

  • The young creators said after taking part in the campaign they felt valued, engaged, heard by the Government and happy that they were able to be part of the team sharing key messages regarding the Government’s roadmap.
