‘Lost’ apparently

I stray into a church cafe

trying to find Wifi.

This is much more likely

than that cheap diner

or the pub I just wandered into.

A lady holds the door open for me.

Two patrons look up from tables and smile.

The member of staff comes round the counter

with a blessing on her face.

I slow down

wonder whether I’d actually be able to grab a coffee anonymously here

open my laptop in the corner

and just type

I start to reverse

‘hello, how are are you?’

‘do you have wifi? ’I say

They don’t

‘Never mind then’

Out I go. No one opens the door for me this time.

Sorry. Not looking for that kind of connection right now
