Fresh Socks.

After she married him, she was of her own.

All lungs heaving and sweat placed hair

He worshipped her body nightly.

She kept her mind from his touch

Dreaming his cast iron fingertips knew she was molten gold that he could not afford to lose.

He did not. 

He went on to write stories about his loss.
