She never smiled in photos

Empty shell like eyes peering back into a judgmental open lens.

She wasn’t always like this, used to be life of the party but the tinnitus never stopped ringing in her ears and now,

Now the echoes send vibrations down her spine

She has embodied the stature of lots wife

Looking back at her past has frozen her still and moving forward is virtually impossible.

This is a cautionary tale – don’t escape cities with men who will uproot your world at the blink of an eye.

Be your own boaz.
